About us

Baltic Packaging was founded in 1916 as a metal packaging manufacturing company.

On May 1st 2018, Baltic Packaging ApS became part of the German metal products producer Blechwarenfabrik Limburg GmbH. With this acquisition, the two companies are able to offer a broader product range within metal packaging, providing customers with greater stability and momentum and new, innovative solutions. The acquisition also ensures a consolidation of the market and a solid foundation for future investments. Like Baltic Packaging ApS, Blechwarenfabrik Limburg GmbH is a family-owned company with a solid foothold on the market. Both companies continue under their current names, at their existing addresses.

With the acquisition Baltic Packaging also became a member of the network "Innovative Canmakers Europe SE", which consists of Blechwarenfabrik Limburg and Giorgio Fanti SpA (Bologna), providing access to a wide-ranging product portfolio of packaging for chemical-technical filling goods.

End of 2021 Baltic decided to change the legal entity from an A/S to an ApS.

The Baltic cans sold under the trademark Consafe are used primarily in the paint and varnish industry both for the consumer and industrial markets. Though our main focus is on the European markets, we export our products world wide to countries such as USA, Russia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Singapore.

Consafe is much more than just a can

The Consafe cans manufactured by Baltic are designed with a view to supply chain efficiency and outstanding functionality, economical ressource utilization and ready recycling – thus securing a greener future. Due to the conical design of Consafe cans, it is very easy to stack them for transporting and warehousing while empty until they are being filled with product.

Consafe cans are manufactured with a patented sealing design for paint and varnish products which require UN approved transport packaging. This is the reason why it is safe to use them for transporting and storing dangerous fluids. Consafe cans are elegantly designed in dimensions which are efficient both during transport but also internally in the paint factories.

The cans are manufactured from tinplate, a raw material which is 100 % naturally protective of the products, 100 % recyclable and 100 % sustainable.
